Desert Hooves

About Desert Hooves

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB

Desert Hooves Pony Club is a new club and currently the only Pony Club in the Phoenix area.  We are very excited to bring this opportunity to the community. Pony Club does not have a minimum age requirement and accepts members of any age.  Desert Hooves is part of the South West Region, which includes, New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern Colorado.

We strive for excellence, but never forget to have fun. Members will be able to participate in summer camp, and are instructed in both mounted and unmounted meetings throughout the year. Our club will participate in Eventing, Jumper Shows, and Dressage.  We will also participate in regional rallies. Pony Clubs across America aim to educate the national youth equestrian population, and members learn not only how to ride safely and effectively, but they also learn how to care for their equine companions. Whether your child is 7 or 17, there is always something new to learn.

We want to make Pony Club enjoyable for everyone. Our club has amazing instructors that really devote their time, and are passionate about what they do. For those that do not have a horse, you are still welcome to join.  At the unmounted meetings you will learn all about Horse Management and be able to interact with horses. To participate in rallies and mounted meetings, you will need access to a horse.

USPC Pony Clubs and Riding Centers are assigned to one of 41 geographical regions, which are administered by a volunteer Regional Supervisor (RS) and other appointed and elected officers. Regions offer additional activities and opportunities for members and support for the club and center leaders under their administration. Desert Hooves Pony Club is part of the Southwest Region.
